La Guía para la Promoción de la Asociatividad Empresarial Rural es un instrumento metodológico que tiene como objetivo orientar procesos de diseño, planificación, facilitación, asistencia técnica, monitoreo, evaluación y sistematización de intervenciones que contribuyan a fortalecer las capacidades asociativas y empresariales de pequeños y medianos productores, bajo un enfoque de mercado, cadenas productivas y desarrollo sostenible territorial
El mapeo de actores y organizaciones sirve para representar la realidad institucional del territorio. Se utilizaron métodos de investigación cualitativos como observación, entrevistas abiertas semiestructuradas y grupos focales. Los métodos de investigación cualitativos apuntan a reconocer a las personas como sujetos de investigación y no objetos, valorando sus saberes, vivencias, experiencias. Así mismo, consideran la subjetividad e identidades para la transformación-cultural-evolutiva, que se precisa para llegar a la equidad e igualdad de género.
En Colombia la política pública de cadenas productivas del Ministerio de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural (MADR) se ha consolidado como una estrategia de desarrollo para el agro. Los Comités Regionales (CR) planean e implementan buena parte de las iniciativas de apoyo público en conjunto con el sector productivo-privado local.
The IFAD-NUS project, implemented over the course of a decade in two phases, represents the first UN-supported global effort on neglected and underutilized species (NUS). This initiative, deployed and tested a holistic and innovative value chain framework using multi-stakeholder, participatory, inter-disciplinary, pro-poor gender- and nutrition-sensitive approaches.
This paper uses the Mexican Sustainable Modernisation of Traditional Agriculture (Ma-sAgro) programme as a case study to analyse the challenges to operationalizing agricultural innovation systems. The authors outline the relationship between Mexico ́s extension approaches and global trends in technological change. They then analyse how MasAgro ́s innovatio nnetworks are operationalized. Thirdly, is identified ways to efficiently target in innovation networks, using a case-study from the state of Chiapas. Finally, the paper draw lessons from MasAgro ́s innovation systems.
The Walmart Initiative was designed to provide technical support to train at least 200 farmers on best practices in marketing produce to larger companies and corporations like Walmart. This support was provided through specialized training, workshops, informational group meetings, and overall awareness of market opportunities.

Growing up in an increasingly free and fair continent, the young people of Africa are dynamic, forward-looking and best positioned to find innovative solutions to local chal-lenges through the use of science and technology. To do this, conditions have to be suitable and young people need an environment in which barriers to self-actualization are broken.

Agricultural innovations are seen as a key avenue to improve nutrition and health in smallholder farm households. But details of these agriculture-nutrition-health linkages are not yet well understood. While there is a broad literature on the adoption of agricultural technologies, most studies primarily focus on impacts in terms of productivity and income. Nutrition and health impacts have rarely been analyzed. In this article, we argue that future impact studies should include nutrition and health dimensions more explicitly.
