El documento trata sobre las áreas de cultivo de frijol y maíz en Centroamérica y República Dominicana. Se abarcan también aspectos relacionados con su consumo, rendimiento, producción, tipo de productores, factores socioeconómicos y se hace uso de estadísticas para brindar la información respectiva.
En este artículo se hace un análisis histórico del funcionamiento de la cadena de valor láctea en Chile entre 1975 y 2005. Para ello se ha utilizado información procedente de distintas fuentes estadísticas, así como estudios e informes de la época considerada. El objetivo es demostrar que la generación de un sector competitivo, abierto a la competencia internacional, e incluso exportador, no es el resultado de la actuación de las fuerzas libres del mercado, sino de una política pública aplicada de una forma que a la vez resulta flexible y persistente en el tiempo.
El objetivo de este boletín es contribuir a incrementar el conocimiento del tema en la región, sobre todo sus alcances como marco de referencia para las políticas de desarrollo e innovación orientadas a la descarbonización, con énfasis en los sectores agropecuario y agroindustrial. Lesotho generates income mainly by exporting textiles, water, and diamonds, and is a member of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), and the Common Monetary Area (CMA). The national currency, the loti, is pegged to the South African rand.
