Apart from the introduction and conclusion, the contents of this book are organised around a number of case studies, grouped into two main chapters. Firstly, in a chapter on capacity development with case studies on the capacity development of regional consultants exploring innovative approaches to improving and expanding the regional skills base across a number of continents, the studies examine capacity development of in-country partners which implement HIV programs, provide new and exciting approaches to ensure a more evidence-informed and adopt strategic approaches to maximizing beneficial outcomes of national and regional HIV programmes. Secondly, in the chapter on Technical Assistance Management, the scene is set for approaches to ensure that the process of providing well planned, efficiently organised and result oriented technical assistance to country programs is achieved.
