Capacity development interventions in support of agricultural innovation are more effective when based on systematic and participatory assessments of existing skills and capacity needs. Recognizing that, an instrument has been developed in the context of the Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CDAIS) project. It consists of a capacity scoring tool that allows assessing innovation capacities, identifying strengths and weaknesses and monitoring capacity changes over time. This paper describes the scoring tool and provides guidelines on how to apply it successfully.
This training manual was prepared under the EU-funded project Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CDAIS), a global partnership (Agrinatura, FAO and 8 pilot countries) that aims to strengthen the capacity of countries and key stakeholders to innovate in complex agricultural systems, thereby achieving improved rural livelihoods.

This Training of Trainers Manual is designed to help build the capacity of trainers in flash flood risk management, who can then disseminate the knowledge to a larger number of practitioners. The manual presents an eight-day course including a three-day field trip. Detailed lesson plans for 21 sessions are followed by resource materials that will enable the trainers to replicate the course in their own work areas.
The objective of this Guide is to recommend a process and set of steps for an organization to prepare, establish and to develop effective Water Users Associations (WUA) suitable to Tajikistan. It summarizes lessons learned in Tajikistan, by two donor finance projects, which established and trained 97 WUAs. Establishment of WUAs is essential in order to solve existing problems in the irrigation sector and other challenges faced by farmers and other water users3 .
This decision guide is intended to help extension professionals and their organizations make informed decisions about which extension method and approach to use for providing information, technologies and services to rural producers and to facilitate interactions and knowledge flow. El presente documento tiene por finalidad sistematizar y difundir las actividades realizadas en el municipio Yacapaní del departamento Santa Cruz en Bolivia, en el marco del Plan Nacional de CpD para Bolivia del proyecto ICDS Bolivia (MDRyT-INIAF-FAO). Esta fue la primera área piloto en la que la ICDS Bolivia inició sus actividades en el nivel local, las cuales se llevaron a cabo en tres etapas. La primera fue una etapa exploratoria mediante un diagnóstico participativo sobre necesidades y oportunidades en comunicación para la innovación y el desarrollo rural.
Como parte del proyecto insignia del IICA “Productividad y sustentabilidad de la agricultura familiar para la seguridad alimentaria y la economía rural” se realizó un ejercicio participativo para identificar y validar innovaciones que contribuyan a la mejora de los sistemas de agricultura familiar.
Este fascículo metodológico trata de la siguiente tareas estratégicas:
• Articulación de actores y redes para la elaboración de la estrategia.
• Análisis sistémico del territorio.
• Formulación de una visión de futuro para el territorio.
• Identifcación de motores de desarrollo y objetivos estratégicos.
• Elaboración de planes a mediano plazo, programas e ideas de proyectos estratégicos.
• Concreción de acuerdos y alianzas para impulsar la estrategia.

The objective of this document is provide practical guidelines to implement marketplace events to strengthen agricultural innovation. A marketplace is an event organized to facilitate matching of demand and supply and to promote learning, sharing and exchanging of information, knowledge and practical experience on specific topics.
